It had been several weeks now since Elle had called him home to tell him something, and taken his hand, squeezing it and asking that he don’t panic or overreact, and proceeded to inform him that she was pregnant with his child. With Matt and Mohinder both gone away with work Gabriel had been placed as guardian for Molly until they came back. He didn’t mind it much, he’d taken care of her several times before when Matt and Mohinder had work, or a couples retreat or something of the sort. Actually, he quite enjoyed taking care of the young girl. He never had to do much, she was very independent, but he would help her with her homework and make dinner, and of course make sure she brushed her teeth and got to school, all the responsibilities that were to be expected, but other than that she was a very good girl. She would always help with dishes even when not asked, and she’d do her chores and everything she had to do. Another reason he was fond of staying with her was that he would be staying at their house, which meant that he would have a nice large, double bed rather than his small single, and there was just something about being able to stretch out fully that was absolutely wonderful.

Gabriel couldn’t help it. He couldn’t stop the tears from welling up in his eyes as he saw all of his lunch sinking into the murky water of the large puddle that had gathered up in the playground, though where the teachers had strictly told them not to go. He didn’t know why the bullies always chose him, but they did, and now he just had to watch the tuna sandwich his mother had made for him soak up the water and sink into it. The cookies that she had baked the night before had been eaten in front of his face by the older boys as they laughed at him, though they didn’t even really eat them, no, they chewed on them and then spit them out saying that his mother couldn’t bake. Those cookies however were his favourite, and he loved them. He sniffed and brought his hand up to wipe his nose, and right as he did he heard a girls voice behind him.
